Hohe Schrecke: Great Hohe Schrecke circular route

Hikers should bring two to three days to walk it completely. If you are less ambitious, you can hike the path piece by piece in a very relaxed manner. The brick-red Hohe-Schrecke-Tree guides you through the unspoilt forests of the Hohe Schrecke and Beichlinger Schmücke and past charming villages around the chain of hills. Again and again there are wide views of the Unstrutaue on one side and the Thuringian Basin on the other. The beauty of the Great Hohe-Schrecke-Rundweg is its variety: the route touches fields, forests and meadows, but also hidden valleys and the dense, unspoilt forest in Wiegental. The path is not barrier-free.
