Do you fancy the long tours? Then you should take a look at our long-distance cycle routes. Ellrich could currently be described as the hub of the long-distance routes in the southern Harz Kyffhäuser region. Three supra-regional routes pass through the small Harz town. The European route EV13-Iron Curtain Trail runs along the former Iron Curtain and tells the story of the former border. The Harzrundweg also passes here on its "journey" around the mystical low mountain range and the new Harz-Rennsteig-Radweg starts here. It runs from north to south through the Free State of Thuringia, from Ellrich on the border with Lower Saxony to the Bavarian border in the south.

The somewhat smaller long-distance cycle route hub is located in Artern. This is where the Unstrut-Werra-Radweg starts its winding course to the Werra in Heldra and the Unstrut-Radweg also passes through the salt town in the far east of the region.
